BRECHFA FOREST TRAILS

Black Route

The black Raven trail is due to open on the 1st of June 2008, and the plans are looking really good. We are really exited about the Raven trail - with a mixture of hard climbs, natural singletrack, roots, rock gardens, berms, table tops and much more ... there is going to be something for everyone, and something to test even the most experienced of riders.

Red Route

The red Gorlech trail has been open for about a year and a half now and rides really nicely. A bit different from the other trails in Wales, it offers berms, tabletops and long swooping descents ... there are easy options around the tricky stuff if you are building up your skills. The big climbs are rewarded with great views and incredible downhills that can only be described as a work of art. A trail you can ride over an over, it'll ride differently every time.

Green & Blue Route

The green and blue (an extension of the green) Derwen trail is a really good ride, it's a great introduction to riding at Brechfa and we love it! A real 'fun for all' trail, it's worth riding what ever your skill level. Don't be surprised to find yourselves riding with everyone, from young families to experienced mountain bikers.

ABOUT BIKE BRECHFA

BikeBrechfa is based in an old police station in the village of Llansawel just 2 miles from the start of the red route in Brechfa Forest. We have a total of 24 years cycling experience between us and regularly ride off and on road locally and nationally and even compete in the occasional endurance event.

Following several years of entertaining friends at home on weekend cycling trips here in the Welsh hills; we decided to start our own business and so BikeBrechfa was born.

We're situated on the edge of Brechfa forest between two village pubs which are a stones throw from the door.

We provide budget priced accommodation aimed directly at cyclists. To start you off for a day on the bike how about a round of bacon and egg rolls or a healthy alternative (porridge/cereals/toast). At the end of a hard day, come back to use the bikewash, secure bike storage, hot showers and then kick back and enjoy the comfortable lounge with an open fire, Sky TV and DVD player.

If you want to stay close to home for your evening meal you can choose to visit one of two pubs in the village. We can take you on a guided tour of brechfa forest and show you the highlights of the red route while you are staying with us.
