Brechfa Bike Club in association with Forestry Commission and Carmarthenshire County Council present "The Ian Forshaw Memorial Team MTB Enduro"

Sunday 13th July 2008, Brechfa Forest, Carmarthenshire, Wales

Ian Forshaw, a highly respected employee of the Forestry Commission, passed away in 2007 and in his honour the FC wish to dedicate an event to his name. The Brechfa Forest Enduro has therefore been tailored around Ian's ideals: e.g. teamwork. The Brechfa Forest Enduro is therefore an Enduro in the traditional sense however with the added twist of needing to complete the course with two other team-mates.

Teams

Teams of three only - single sex or mixed teams. Teams will be required to ride together to help each other around the course by draughting on the climbs and pacing on the descents. And of course also for moral during those tiring low moments mid way around a ride where you feel wiped out and still have 20km to get home.

Route

36km - Starting in Llansawel the route takes you into the northern end of the forest and climbs up to join the infamous Gorlech trail (Red Grade) which will be mixed up with some of the 'natural' - unknown trails in the forest before linking in with the Brand New 'Raven Trail' (Black Grade) and then returning to the Gorlech trail for the final descent to Abergorlech Forest Car Park where a BBQ provided by the Black Lion Pub (Abergorlech) will be waiting. Take some cash with you on your ride!
The 72km route is 2 laps of the short course to enable riders to fully enjoy the awesome descents of Brechfa forest for a 2nd time. Enjoy!
